I didn't know that the Rockies have never won in Toronto. 0-7. Wow.

Here's to hoping they can at least get one game tonight. still a lot of road games left before they come back home. I'm afraid that they'll let things slip below .500. Why did the baseball gods have to break Tulo's rib?? The injury prone conversations about Troy have already begun, and for good reason. I mean Troy was just trying to make a play, landed awkwardly and got hurt. But he's been hurt 3 years in a row now...

Jeff Francis is out. Won't be in DC tomorrow and will be replaced by Roy Oswalt who'll start against the Nats.

Gads, they got rid of E.Y. Jr for a lack-luster pitcher.

Meanwhile, Toronto swept the Rockies 3 of 3, and the Rox are now 0-9 in Toronto.

Rox are 37-36 at .507 and it's not a good time for them with Tulo out and iffy pitching.

Yeah, the Rocks are really missing Tulo's bat.

I honestly didn't expect them to be at .500 this far into the season, but they've been struggling since Troy went down. And he's supposed to be out for what...like 6 weeks? Not good.

Rox lost to the Nats tonight, 5-1, and are now at 37-37, to make it four losses in a row and 7 losses out of last ten games.

Coincidentally, the Nats rose to 36-36.

Tonight was Oswalt's first pitching start for the Rox, struck out 11 batters in 5 innings which is great news, but he also gave up 9 hits and 4 runs.

EDIT: Rockies are now in 4th place, a half-game behind San Diego who are 37-36 after winning 8 of their last 10 games.

Suffice to say we've reached a full slump. This is a turning point for the Rox. They've been above .500 all season long, and if you count the games played, they are just shy of halfway through their schedule. That is not too bad for a team I expected to be out of contention by mid-May. But now it is time for this team to decide if they are going to accept the status quo or if they are going to be a legit ball club this year. They still have some good bats, even with Tulo down. They need to pick up some wins on the road, too. This is a pivotal moment for the team, if you ask me.

Go Rockies!

I agree, for sure it's a slump.

Lost again tonight 2-1, now 37-38.

Chatwood pitched six fine innings, allowing only 4 hits and one run, pulled for a pinch hitter with a 1-1 tie going.

Corpas comes in to pitch the 7th and to the VERY FIRST batter gives up a home run, making it 2-1 Nats and that's how it ended.

Rox have scored only 7 runs in 5 games, losing 5 games in a row and 8 out of last 10 games.

Time to DUMP the SLUMP, eh.

Yeah, Mike, it's a slump. The Rox are 0-5 on this road trip. I was hoping this would be where they made some a statement on the road, but now I am just hoping they get back to Coors field somewhere near .500. Keep it afloat and don't slide too far below .500. Tulo will not be gone forever. These slumps do happen, but but if the team is not careful it can be the beginning of the end for their season. Today's game is almost a must win.

They must've heard you....Rox win 7-1, scoring as many runs today as they did in the prior 5 games.

Rox are now in 4th place at 38-38 and one game behind the Giants who've swooned a bit lately too.

Chacin pitched 7 sound innings, giving up 5 hits but zero runs and he got a hit and an RBI to boot; can't beat that from a pitcher.
