IMO, Pittsburgh will reliably be over 2.2 mill attendance for the next few years as they should have a competitive team for at least the next 5-6 years. They'll never hit 3 mill at PNC - it would require 98% capacity for the entire year.

Apparel sales have overtaken the Steelers, which, if you live here, is an absolutely absurd notion as Pgh is as much a "football" town and StL is a "baseball" town.

Anyway the point of the initial defense was some blockhead mentioning the Pirates should be considered for contraction. A point which has been rendered moot.

I just saw some news articles and it looks like the movement to bring MLB back to Montreal is picking up steam. I hear there are big time investors who may be interested and the movement seems to be energized by Scott Boras' recent statement that MLB should have a team there.

I would much rather see a baseball team in Portland Oregon, Indianapolis, or San Antonio before Montreal gets an MLB franchise again.

I always thought Jacksonville would be a good market.

Hopefully, this will pick up and baseball could return.
