Reasons I hate the Cardinals:

1901 the original Brewers move to St.Louis
Budweiser
1982 loss World Series
2006 C'mon who wins the World Series having only won 83 games!
Jeff Suppan
2011 loss in the NLCS
They think they have the smartest baseball fans and are the best baseball city in America.

Yeah a lot of people are saying this years NL races are boring, am I the only one that thinks otherwise. For years the NL Central was always called the NL Cellar and now it is baseball's best division. From the looks of things it will remain that way for a while.

The 1987 Minnesota Twins won the World Series with 87 wins.

I've always thought that Atlanta Braves fans thought they had the smartest fans in America(I live in the Atlanta area and I couldn't care less for the Braves).

I was furious in 2011. Even a Mariners fan like me felt kind of slighted. The Texas Rangers share the same division as the Mariners, and the Milwaukee Brewers are the team from my father's home town, so I wasn't happy to see the Cards win.

The Pirates stand 4 wins away from a winning record. Don't be surprised if it's in the next ten days, but it could come this week, and they'll get there.

And the Pirates might make history in more ways than one.

Besides ending a 20 season losing streak:

1) Going to the playoffs for the very first time since 1992
2) Clinching the NL Central

Damn small market team signing guys like Burnett, Liriano, Martin, Byrd, Rodriguez and Morneau over just two years. How's a large market team supposed to compete?

Pirates fans do not need inspiration from a past many never experienced. Maybe old folks who've forgotten what a great game baseball is might. But the rest of us are doing just fine without "We are family", green weenies, old Bob Prince/Lanny Frattere calls and all the rest of the stuff that should stay in a time capsule. We enjoy this team for what it is (and isn't). Zoltan, New Pirates Generation, Greg Brown insanity and all.
