They need to worry more about winning the division. A little slump will be the difference between a division title and possible home field against the Dodgers, and being on the road for the one game playoff.

I have not watched any baseball or checked any scores since last Wed when the Pirates played the Brewers. I was actually rooting for the bucs vs my brew crew so I could see the pirates get that ever important 82 win for an official winning seasons since I was 10 years old. I just checked the standings and the pirates have lost the last 3 games, geesh!

Win 82 is really hard to come by, well they will get it today I am sure! the Pirates are too good to lose 4 in a row.

I just checked the score. 5-0 St. Louis, and it's the top of the 5th inning. The Bucs really could end up losing 4 in a row if not careful.

You mean that if they lose today it is the product of carelessness?

It is now 9-0 in favor of the Cards in the 7th inning.

If only the Pirates had been careful....

They lost 4 in a row. Final score, the Bucs 2, the much hated Cardinals, 9.

Monday poses something interesting. Wouldn't it be something if the Pirates get win number 82 on the road in Arlington in an interleague game against the Rangers (who have a history of the dubious)?? That's tomorrow night, guys.

They did it, win number 82 tonight and the first winning season since their leftfielder was named Bonds.

Congrats to the Pirates and their fans, may you have winning seasons every twenty years.

And on behalf of A's fans, thanks for doing it against the Rangers.

Good for the Pirates. Nice to see them bring some winning baseball back to a great sports city. Hopefully they can keep it going and get into the playoffs.

At the very least, it shouldn't be hard to win 8 more games. Perhaps it might be enough to get them in the playoffs.

You're expecting the Nats to run the table?
