Isn't it amazing that Lou Gehrig contracted Lou Gehrig's disease.
I mean, what are the chances of that happening?!?

Are you serious? If you are - Lou Gehrig's disease is easier to say than the actual disease.

I actually have an answer. Considering 30,000 people in the US has it and there are 300,000,000 people in the US, the chances that someone named Lou Gehrig or anyone else getting it are 1 in 10,000.

This is an old joke, I first saw it in the form of graffiti on a bathroom wall at UC Berkeley in the '70's, it read "Lou Gehrig died of Lou Gehrig's Disease....Coincidence?"

You could make the same sort of joke about Tommy John surgery.

I actually met a guy with the last name Crapo, pronounced crepe-o but everyone called him Crap-O!
