Coleman was class on the ball field and class in the broadcast booth. He gave a lot of good responses with a variety of interviews from ESPN's Sports Century bio documentaries to HBO's one hour special on Mickey Mantle to some of the Yankeeography documentary series which are available on dvd.

Also noted is his service to his country, on the ESPN Sports Century one hour bio on Ted Williams he has some interesting comments regarding Ted during their hitch in the Marines. He'll be missed.

Coleman was a great announcer I grew up listening to his Padres broadcasts. It's too bad I'll never hear him say "The Padres have won the World Series!"

Coleman was also a Yankees broadcaster for a while. And a very good one.

I remember when the Padres pulled him from the broadcast booth to be the manager - desperate move on their part back then......
