Tom Seaver still holds the highest 1st year vote total with 98.84%. If Ripken couldn't beat that, not sure Jeter will. But if he does, I won't be surprised.

I think Jeter's defense keeps the vote from being unanimous. But his postseason accomplishments in and of themselves are enough to get him into the Hall of Fame, let alone 3,400+ hits.
