Given Rodriguez's track record-continuing to use even after being caught, and always trying to lie his way out of it if he could, I think the reports likely true.
This could also be said of other players but does not prove that they were users throughout their careers. And I'm not an A-Roid fan. I wish he were playing somewhere else.

Canseco wrote that in 1993, when he was 29 he had a workout session with the then 18 year old high school senior, Alex Rodriguez. Canseco was blown away by how buffed this kid already was, and that at 18 he could already bench almost as much weight as Canseco who had been using PEDs since the mid 1980's. Canseco concluded that what Rodriguez had achieved was not possible for an 18 year old unless steroids were involved.
Canseco in 15 kinds of a d-bag, but he has been vindicated again and again when it comes to naming names.
In Selena Roberts' book about Rodriguez, sources told her that Rodriguez had put on 25 pounds of muscle between his sophomore and junior years of high school. The source claimed that he obtained his steroids from a local dog kennel operator.

I did not read the Canseco books because I doubted his credibility at the time. But even a broken clock is right twice a day.

The Astros can sweep Seattle on the road tonight with a win. It'd be their first sweep this year if it happens, and it'd also be their fifth win in a row, the longest such streak in the AL right now.
The AL West, by the way, is not exactly playing up to some folks' expectations if you judge their current records. Then again, they've played most of their games against division opponents. We'll know real soon how they fare against the other teams in the league. Oh, and the Rangers get the D-Backs tonight.
Cleveland is 3-8 since going 2-1 in their opening series at Houston.
Some big surprises to start the year: The Cubs are starting off 8-5 while Miami is off to a 3-11 beginning when many of us expected it to be the other way around. And the reason for the Marlins' horrid start?? That bullpen's been blowing leads. Also, San Francisco is starting slow, as well.
Possibly the best line from an announcer in this young season, from Bob Walk of the Pirates:
"I don't think anyone told Addison Russell when he was brought up to the majors yesterday that he'd be facing a 99-mph fastball in a snowstorm today."

We did not sweep Detroit but we gave them only 10 runs in the 4 games.
