Won the final 3 against the Marlins after starting that series with a loss, won 2 of 3 against Cincinnati, got 2 of 3 against the Braves to finish the homestand a good 7-3 and than started off a 10 game road trip by winning 2 of 3 in Miami. 3 in St. Louis, 4 in Atlanta this week as the road trip concludes. Why they couldn't play Atlanta first & St. Louis second I have no idea.

Won 2 of 3 in St. Louis to win 5 straight series but then followed that up dropping 3 of 4 in Atlanta. Off day Monday to travel before a quick 2 game home stand the Oakland Athletics come in for 2 games beginning on Tuesday, and than they'll play the other bay area team the Giants in San Fran for 4 games starting Thursday.

Got swept at home by the A's to begin the week including Brad Hand blowing the opener and than dropped 3 out of 4 in San Francisco. 3 in Texas, off day Thursday, 3 at home for a quick 3 game home stand against the Pirates to end June before they head right back out on the road.

Lost 2 out of 3 in Texas, went home and than lost 2 of 3 to the Pirates. They go back on the road for their final 6 road games before the break; 2 in Oakland starting on Tuesday after Monday's day off, and than 4 in Arizona, their second trip to Arizona so far this year. The D'Backs meanwhile have yet to pay a visit to San Diego, and will play 10 games in San Diego over about the final 75 games.

Lost 3 out of 4 in LA, and than got swept by the Cubs to end the first half. 6 game East coast road trip upcoming here to begin the second half: 3 in Philadelphia first, 3 in Queens against the Mets, and than following a Thursday off day they return home to face the D'Backs, who surprisingly will be making their first trip to Petco park in the 2018 season.

Also, this week the Padres traded all star closer Brad Hand and relief pitcher Adam Cimber to the Cleveland Indians for catching prospect Francisco Mejia. Mejia was the Indians top rated prospect and 2 or 3 years ago had a 50 game hitting streak in the minor leagues. He was playing a little first and OF in the Indians system since he was blocked there by Yan Gomes and Roberto Perez, both of whom are signed through at least 2019, but with the Padres he should be the every day catcher which would relegate Austin Hedges to a backup role.

Got swept in the mini 2 games series to San Fran, and than went onto Chicago and split 2 of the 4 games. Despite being less than 90 miles away, the Padres will have a day off before heading onto Milwaukee, where they will see a familiar face when the series begins....reliever Jordan Lyles who was claimed on waivers by the Brewers, and he should be active for the Brewers on Tuesday. Starting pitcher Tyson Ross has also departed getting claimed on waivers by the Cardinals. After the 3 games in Milwaukee, they’ll head home for 3 games with the Phillies starting Friday.

Finished the road trip 4-3 winning 2 of 3 in Milwaukee, and than won 2 of 3 against the Phillies. Listening to the game yesterday on Sirius, Ted Leitner and Bob Scanlon were saying that they have drawn more this year than the Phillies, currently tied with Atlanta for first place in the East. If that is indeed true, a pat on the back to you Padres fans for continuing to come out to the yard. And just imagine in 2 or 3 years when this team starts winning, then Petco will really be the place to be in San Diego in the summer!

3 game interleague series against the Angels starts on Monday, than the D'Backs return to town for 4 games over the weekend beginning on Thursday evening.

Dismal week for the Pads as they win only 1 of their 7 games this week getting swept by the Angels and losing 3 of 4 to the first place Diamondbacks. They now head on the road for 6 games beginning with 3 in Colorado, now in a 3 way tie for the Wildcard with the Phillies and Brewers, and while both the Brewers and Phillies have lost 6 of their last 10 games, the Rockies have won 8 of their last 10 games, and the road trip concludes with 3 in Chavez Ravine against the Dodgers.
