Lost 2 of 3 in Minnesota and 2 of 3 in Chicago. Back at it against the Twins to open the "unofficial" second half of the season, and than 3 at home against Detroit, before they visit the Bronx for 4 games against the Yankees. That should end well . Hopefully Moose doesn't end that series in Pinstripes.

Nah. Last season the Royals learned how dumb Moustakas could be and they plan to exploit that annually. Each season they will tender the minimum qualifying offer, rely on Mike spurning it, and then signing him on the cheap for another year when no takers could be found.

Swept the Twins at home to open the second half, lost 2 of 3 at home to Detroit the series after and than lost 3 of 4 in New York. At least Moose didn't even the series in pinstripes as he got traded to Milwaukee on Friday evening and now joins ex-Royal Lorenzo Cain in Milwaukee. Hey, maybe the Nats can trade Kelvin Herrera to Milwaukee in the next 27.5 hours and make it almost an official Royals reunion?? Off day Monday, series in Chicago against the White Sox starts on Tuesday, and than they'll head north to Minnesota to conclude the week.

Won 2 of 3 in Chicago and got swept in Minnesota. This week is “NL Central” week at the K; Cubs are in for 3 starting Monday, and following a Thursday off day, the Show Me State rivalry will renew at the K for the weekend, with the Royals looking to salvage something from this lost season, can win that season series with a series win after winning 2 of 3 in St. Louis back in May

1-5 week against the NL Central means it's not even the middle of August and they've already clinched a losing record . 2015 where have you gone??

4 game series against the Blue Jays will conclude the homestand and than the 3rd and final trip to Chicago (all in the last 6 weeks) to play the White Sox starts on Friday.

Split 4 home games with the Blue Jays and than lost 2 of 3 in Chicago to the White Sox blowing a 6-0 lead Sunday and losing 7-6.

4 games in Tampa and 3 at home against Cleveland this week.

can we just tank and out lose the Orioles to get the #1 pick now? What a terrible year.. I don't envision the next 2 years being fun to watch either if you want a competitive team

Nope. This is what happens when you keep the core together for another run (see early 2010 Phillies & mid 2010 Tigers for more examples). The Phillies are just starting to get back, 10 years after their last World Series title, 9 years after their last World Series appearance and 7 years after their last division & playoff appearance. Luckily for the Royals Carlos Correa booted that potential double play grounder in game 4 of the 2015 ALDS, otherwise they'd be in the same spot as the Tigers; went for it to win it all, didn't get it down, and will now pay the piper for the next 4 to 5 years. Tigers & Royals should be locked in the 4-5 spots in the Central until at least 2021.

Lost all 4 in Tampa, but came back to the K and won 2 of 3 against the division-leading Indians, including back-to-back homers off of Indians closer Cody Allen to walk off in Friday's game. They actually have 2 off day's at home this week, as following a Monday off day they will play a quick mini 2 game series at the K against the Tigers, and than following a Thursday off day, the Orioles come into the K for battle of worst in baseball.

I don't think I've said this before this year but that was a perfect week for the Royals as they swept the 2 game series from the Tigers, and than swept the 3 game series from the Orioles. Of course that comes with a downside as it knocks them down a peg for the #1 overall pick in next year's draft, and when you are this bad, you might as well just be "number one overall pick next year" bad, so this recent stretch, 7-1 in the last 8 games has all but put that to rest. Bummer! Too bad they couldn't win these games when it actually mattered like in April, or in June where I think they went 5-22 over the month. 3 games in Cleveland beginning on Wednesday, and than following a Thursday off day they'll head to Minnesota for 3.
