Royals up 2-0 and looked dominant with Cueto pitching a complete game giving up 1 run on 2 hits. DeGrom didn't fair so well starting in the 4th. The Mets defense was bad. If they don't tighten things up quickly back in NY its going to be a short series.

Beginning to think that KC 's lineup does not require Jonny Gomes to pinch hit. I felt that if KC gets down let's say four runs Jonny could bring in 2-3 runs with the long ball. I may have been mistaken as KC's power and hitting is simply overwhelming not to mention defense. It would have been my sports dream to see Gomes cap the series in a fluke HR. I became a fan of Gomes when learning about his work ethic and teams love the guy. He once hit three homers in one game! Had Gomes not been an inconsistent hitter and marginal outfielder ( except for a few great catches) he could have been another Pete Rose. Gomes will slide on his face if necessary! In fairness he clocked a .306, 403, and 429 against lefties and has real pop.

Same here! I'm a Phillies fan ( have been my whole life ) and I wanted the Royals to take it for 2 reasons:

First, my older brother ( who's been a Royals fan as long as I've been a Phils fan ) has waited 30 yrs for this, and secondly, it makes it sweeter that KC beat the Mets in front of the Mets fans

Congratulations from a Mets fan. Your style of play was stunning in its max out effort, so while I would have preferred a Met win, I did enjoy watching that style.

Thanks Mike, and thanks kcmo for those aerial photo's of the awesome sauce, no wait, not just awesome sauce, ROYAL JELLY! The hive is getting ready to swarm, there will be many more next year !

It's more fun to scroll this page if you start the Wilbert Harrison song first, before you soak in all the KC bling and the Royal Jelly.

Congrats Royals.

Enjoy.

Jays will do all they can to take your place next season.
