What a find! This family hit the lottery. God bless them, I hope they're good people:

These things never happen to me!

When I was growing up we lived in a house built in the 1880s. Near my bedroom was a storage until built into the wall. The doors and latch were painted over. I had this fantasy of opening it up and finding gold or a nice cache of baseball cards. I was never able to convince my old man to open it up. I'd like to think there's a T206 Wagner sitting in there for the taking.

Kudos, to this family. Must be an amazing feeling to stumble upon such a treasure.

Even with 22 known examples after the find, the card remains far tougher to locate than the famed T206 Honus Wagner

I collected baseball cards in the 80's, took a break and got back into it in '98. I was a Beckett subscriber and always wished I would've gotten finds like this. LOL.

Rarest card I got was a Kenny Lofty one of one. He was still somewhat of an all star level player at that point and I sold it at auction for $130.

There are a few I regret getting rid of including a Sandy Koufax UD sweet spot signed card. It had the sweet spot on the ball cut out and inserted into a really thick card. The other was a Bowman Chrome autographed Albert Pujols RC. I'm not even going to look up to see how much those cards are worth today.

Sounds like you had as much luck as Geraldo busting into Al Capone's vault.

Damn I hate to think how many baseball cards of my youth ended their lives against the spokes of a bicycle wheel.
