Hey guys, breakout the BandWagon, RockTober is on the way.

Was at the game today, Rockies finished a 4-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds. Awesome game.

I've been attending and watching MLB for 55 years and today was the first time I've seen a guy steal home. I couldn't believe it, the place went nuts as it was what proved to be the winning run.

Stealing home no less! Winning 6 to 5. Sweep the Reds. You can't count this bunch out at all. Give them credit, they have really come alive lately!

Default A-w-e-s-o-m-e-!

What can I say, Rockies have now won TEN in a row. Jason Giambi pinch-hit a walk-off HR in the 9th with two out.

San Diego comes into town for 3 games, Mon-Tue-Wed, and we've got tix for Tuesday's game.

RockTober Time.

Giants have ended any chances for playoff hope for the Rockies. Cain almost had a no-hitter.

The Rockies will basically have to win out or come close to anyway. Yea, Cain looked good. Will see what happens. Have had a good season, if only Troy hadn't had the wrist injury...

Its SF/SD battling it out and the Giants will take it.

Default Colorado Can No Longer Win NL West Outright

I have not seen it mentioned anywhere, but while Colorado is five games back with six to play, the best for which they may hope would be a tie for the division crown. The reason for this is that even if they win all six of their remaining games to end up with 89 wins, the two teams ahead of them play one another in their final three games and one of those two teams is bound to win at least two of them.

So...if the Rockies win 89 games and the Giants lose all six of their remaining games, that places Colorado a game ahead of SF, however, SF cannot lose all six of their games unless they also lost those last three to San Diego. If the Padres lose their next three but sweep SF, that gives them 90 wins and the division. If they lose their next three and take two out of three from SF, that places them at 89 wins, equaling the best the Rockies can achieve. However, that one loss to the Giants will also mean that SF has won at least 89 games...a three way tie for first if Colorado had won its last six.

So despite being five back with six to play, there is no longer any possible scenario where Colorado can win the division outright.

Colorado could still win the wild card outright, if the Braves do not win any games this week, the Padres win no more than one, and the Rockies win all six of theirs.

The Colorado scenarios require a series of immense improbablities, so we are really talking a final race where three teams are competing for two playoff spots.

Well, now they cannot win anything. Good late run, but they couldn't duplicate the magic of the '07 finish.
I think that the failure of the team to reach the post season will dim some of the luster from the Tulowiski and Gonzalez MVP possibilities. Votto seems a lock.

Yes, Dodgers 9, Rockies 7. Well, it was a good run.

I wonder how the Rockies could have finished if only Tulo hadn't missed all that time from the wrist injury.
