Yes, I'm serious I liked Block. Levering is good too as well as Lane Grindle. The National broadcasters are just as bad too; Carpenter and whoever the TV analyst with him is. Ray Knight is annoying.

I like Dewayne Staats too, even though he's not a radio guy.

I also like the Mets radio announcers Howie Rose and Josh Lewin and of course the Mets TV announcers, Gary, Ron, and Keith. Hernandez is funny.

Yes
I enjoy his sardonic sense of humor - he does very good w/ Brian Anderson (former KC and other MLB teams' pitcher).

I'm talking as a regional homer, so I only listen to the Braves. I don't have digital radio anywhere or listen over the web. So I don't know if they are better than anyone else or not. But I do know, I would rather listen to a game over the radio than watch one on TV. A good radio announcer draws you into the game.

Does anyone remember Milo Hamilton and Ernie Johnson (Sr.) from back in the late 60's and early 70's when they did the Braves games? I grew up listening to them and though I am a Giant's fan I really enjoyed Hamilton's homerun call and overall enjoyed their broadcast. I also miss Dave Niehaus of the Mariner's radio team. I moved to Seattle when I was 19 and listened to him until 2010 (when he passed away). He was definitely a "homer" but I loved his game call and especially his homerun call of "Fly, fly away"! The 1995 season was the best ever with Dave calling the games (Mariner's fan here).

Here's a list of the grades from A-F grading the local MLB announcers on TV.

Your 2017 MLB local broadcaster rankings

Not to mention the pairing of Glen Kuiper and Ray Fosse on Oakland Athletics TV are fantastic. They are ranked as one of the best local TV announcers in MLB. The most popular grade for Brian Anderson and Bill Schroeder is an A. Victor Rojas and Mark Gubizca for the Angels are very good too along with Gary Thorne/Jim Palmer for the Orioles. The Yankees TV announcers are ranked number 2 on the list with the Giants TV announcers #1 (Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow). I actually find the Yankees TV announcers, especially Michael Kay, more easy to listen to than Sterling or Waldman.

For RADIO announcers locally: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2016...gs-radio-10-1/

The only two I have to disagree with the list are Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler for the Nationals as well as Scott Franzke and Larry Anderson for the Phillies.

The Mariners were fortunate to have one of the best, the late Dave Niehaus. Today they still have some good announcers, Rick Rizz and Adam Goldsmith.
