I can 'take or leave' interleague play. However, I would gladly accept interleague play as a permanent fixture if the DH was dumped by the American League. The AL needs to return to the days when you had to play a position on the field in order to be in the lineup.

Now that we're pretty well stuck with it, why not use it to determine the home team advantage in the World Series?

Opposite here..I'd like it better if I didnt have to watch pitchers hit. Pitchers are a specialty. It would be like telling a goalie to take a shot at the shoot out. You wouldn't do it and pitchers hitting is a joke..always was ..always will be.

Totally agree. The DH is for little old ladies.

Interleague play in and of itself, I don't really have a problem with.. I mean, imagine that someone who lived in Boston never got to see Mike Schmidt come and play in Fenway.. So far as I know, this never did happen. He never played in many AL stadiums. Played in NY, but that was at Shea.. But, it's not just the fans not getting to see some players who spend their career with one team, which is itself a rarity now, but never getting to see some of these great players play at great ballparks.

Or an Atlanta fan never being able to see Derek Jeter play. or never seeing him play at Wrigley Field.

Just seeing an exceptional player at an exceptional venue, and that player getting to play at those venues is the payoff for interleague play.

I'll give you the DH arguments and all that, but just at a low level "Is there a problem with interleague play"? No. I think it's a good thing for the above reasons.

It lost its appeal. When it was first started it was a big deal. Now only a certain amount of IL games are good and worth watching.

Is this different than Intraleague games?
Intradivision games?

I disagree with you about the DH rule. I think the NL should implement a DH. When I watch Major League Baseball, I want to see the best of the best. You do not get anything close to that when a pitcher is at the plate. It's almost an automatic out. And I don't blame the pitchers. You're never going to get good or even decent with just 3 live at-bats per week.

Bring the DH to the NL!

If and when MLB expands from 30 to 32 teams it is possible there could be no more NL or AL. What you may see are four divisions, eight teams each based on geography which would also be a merging of teams from the current NL and AL. Could also see less regular season games and a longer post-season. The addition of two teams would most likely be Portland and Montreal.

Or like football. 8 divisions of 4 teams.
