I love it how ESPN is talking about Jeter missing 3 games, as if he is missing the entire season. All I hear is, "Bad news for Yankees fans......" Then when they come back to it, Jeter is missing 3 games. Give me a break. It's bad news if he is going on the DL or missing the season, not just 3 lousy games.
I always wondered why Torre never did that. I don't think Rodriguez has even started a single game at SS since coming to NY, other than maybe in his first year w/ the Yankees. Maybe Girardi will allow Rodriguez to start at SS once in a while when Jeter gets a day off.

yea, i know right? that's his NATURAL position, and imo is much better at that position than jeter is.

I'm thinking that if Rodriguez played a few games at SS, management is concerned that he'd be so good that Jeter would be out of a job and the Yankees would lose a 3rd baseman.

lol, yea but they could always try out Cano at 3rd and Jeter at 2nd right?

I'm not sure about ESPN's location. Does anyone here know whether they're headquartered in NY? It would explain any Northeast bias in their coverage. I have a theory that the abundance of Yankee coverage (from many outlets, both broadcast and print, not just ESPN) has a lot to do with the fact that many media companies have their headquarters in NYC. The people working for them live in that area, so many of them are therefore fans of NY teams. It's only natural that they have a special interest in the teams they themselves follow. However, I do agree that these professional sports analysts need to remind themselves that they play to a national audience.
