Speed is a tool that transcends some of the other tools of the 5 in baseball.

I saw what speed can do when I lived in St. Louis in 1985 when Vince Coleman, Willie McGee, Ozzie Smith, Andy Van Slyke, Lonnie Smith, Tommy Herr, & others stole 314 bases. It was amazing how they could score w/o getting any hits. Their defense was amazing too because of their team speed.
I’d like to see how de la Cruz would be in Center Field.

He could cover 60% to 70% of the outfield by himself.

Is there anywhere he can't play? third, short stop. i'm sure he would make a good first baseman. and he's built like a pitcher.

My Braves contained him in yesterday's game, but I was biting my nails with his every at-bat.

I wonder how high his vertical leap is?

If he's a great leaper, just think of how many line drives he'll snare due to his height at Short Stop.

He should play basketball and become a 2 way pro athlete.

Ya gotta see the video of this guy. He hit a single, then stole 2nd, 3rd, and Home all within a minute.

Never seen anything like this.

Now THAT'S fun baseball. A good example of how doing the little things can win a game.

Brewers weren't playing 3B and pitcher turned his back on a speedster. Still an accomplishment and a forever highlight reel but Brewers gave up third and home.

I like the Reds Will Benson more than Elly de la Cruz...comapare their stats.

Nobody's talking about Will Benson, so you heard it from me first.

I'd like to see a team come along and win the way they did ... then half the league would follow suit.

I'm bored with HRs and Ks.

Of course, you'll always need a big bopper in the middle of the lineup.
