Is it just me, or does it seem like in every slum area of every U.S. City you see a lot of people wearing Yankee caps? Is it just me, or do you guys think the Yankees are a gangsta team? FYI-this is coming from a Red Sox fan.
Yankees and Dodgers hats seem to be prevalent among the "gangsta" types....maybe its because NY and LA are the cities most associated with gangs. I think they wear those hats more for the cities than because they're Yankees or Dodgers fans. Most of them probably don't know Joba Chamberlain from Jabba the Hutt.
And of course those hats usually the oversized flat-brim clown hats worn cockeyed.

I agree, I don't think it has the slightest thing to do with baseball. It's always gangster wannabe types, and always hats... not jerseys with names or numbers on them.

I have to agree..When I lived in KS, I worked at a store. A customer came in and I said, So you like the Yankee's.
He looked at me funny and had no idea what I was talking about.
you can find yankees hats in Europe also, like in Spain, France, Italy, etc, they're pretty much everywhere
