He got boo'd far worse than Wells in Yankee Stadium and worse than Boggs. Clemens coming back to Fenway as a Yankee was close.
So in other words, many loyal, knowledgeable, diehard Red Sox fans booed Damon when he came back to Fenway Park as a Yankee. Is that an accurate statement?

Yes he does. He's such an ass, it looks like he'll probably be booed in NY after he's gone from the Mets. He's not exactly making any friends there with his big mouth, either.

Philly fans cheer for class acts....Aaron Rowand, even after leaving the Phils for free agency, got a standing O when he came back this season with the Giants. Jim Thome also got a standing O when he came back last season with the White Sox. Ken Griffey, Jr, got a standing O this year, when he was stuck on 599 homers and if he homered in that game it would have tied it up for the Reds.

JD Drew, Barry Bonds, Scott Rolen...guys like that will be booed in Philly.

How did Curt Schilling get received in Philly when he came back as a Diamondback or Red Sock?

Pretty well. I'm pretty sure he at least got a round of applause. People still like Curt for the most part here....he was a big part of our last trip to the World Series. Fans here really wanted him to come back before he signed with the Sox....and the word is that he also wanted to come back to Philly but the Phils wouldn't sign him....either because they are cheap or their "feelings were hurt" when he criticized ownership for being cheap the last time he was here.

Damon had a minority of the fans at Fenway Park give him a standing ovation (enough to tip his helmet to the crowd) in his first at bat there as a Yankee, I never heard of Wells getting any kind of ovation at Yankee Stadium when he came back as a member of the Red Sox.

Don't forget to add Santa Claus to your list along with Drew, Bonds, Rolen....they booed him as well.

The generally very polite and mild Cleveland Indian fans boo their former player Jim Thome mercilessly whenever he gets announced at the start of the game or comes up to bat.

They absolutely loved him, and he said they would have to "tear the shirt off of my back" before he would leave the Indians.

Or else offer him a larger contract.

Thome is still loved in Philly. Jim Thome will always be one of my all-time favorite players...right behind Mike Schmidt.

Cleveland gave him a lowball offer, and admitted they were in a rebuilding stage when Thome was a free agent. I don't blame him one bit for leaving. Aaron Rowand left Philly for the money, and he got a standing ovation when he came into town with the Giants.
