Well now Edwin is getting himself into trouble in the bottom of the ninth, but in truth I will tip my wine-soaked cap to the rest of the AL East... we have heard it before, and will say again, a team must play the best to be the best. If we come out of this on top I hope we can do the rest of the AL proud. One more out...

And one game to go. Go Rays!

My last dying hope is that the Red Sox were in this position last year (down 3-1) and finally broke out of their slump.

Rays look VERY good. Great pitching, clutch hitting.

Remember 2004 too. Down 3-0 to the Yanks only to come back and take the Series. It's not celebration time for the Rays just yet.

First pennant for the Phils since 1993.

They're not gonna go run out and sign Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams now, are they?

Indeed. That's as 1993 as you can get.

But if you want to go back to the last time the Phils actually won it all....

Interesting team, a good mix of power, speed, pitching and defense. Notice though, that they actually had a BA .255, below the league average .260. They certainly make up for it with power though.

Mitch is still around...as a post-game commentator for the Phils on Comcast Sportsnet.
