They've got three young pitchers at AA that could all be very, very good in a year or two.

The Mariners have been my second-favorite team since the late 1970s. (Go, Dodgers!) I only wish they weren't in the league that plays cheater-baseball.
The Mariners are my favorite team. I've been an M's fan since the 90's. The first baseball game I can remember watching was in the Kingdome. I was about 5. I'm 26 and the M's are still my team. I currently live in the Atlanta area(I'm trying to relocate). I don't root for the Braves. The Braves could be in the World Series(and they won in 1995), and I still can't stand the Braves.

I'm a Rays fan but I must say the Mariners perhaps lacking in some depth is a very talented baseball team and the pitching especially is down right scary. Sure the Rays won the last two nights but asside from our resurgence of our bull pin we stunk offensively with the only real bright spot Matt Joyce. The Rays will lose tomorrow unless our bats come alive.
Longoria is out 8 weeks (knee tear) . The Mariners are better than Oakland and I predict they will be in second place in the West soon. Hang in there they are an awesome team.

The Rays and the M's have different problems. TB has batting issues. Seattle has historically had pitching problems. Ken Griffey Jr hit 56 home runs in 1998, however, the M's didn't even win 80 games that year, and did dismally. That was the same year Randy Johnson got traded to the Astros. The 1998 M's also had Edgar Martinez, Alex Rodriguez, and Jay buhner. However, they still didn't do well. The Rays need to rally together the way the M's did in 1995. Ken Griffey Jr. suffered a wrist injury, and then the pitching didn't do so well. In August they M's were in cellar in terms of standings. However, they rallied together and won the West that year, then beat the Yankees in the ALDS. Both the Rays and the M's need that rally.

I relocated a year ago to Seattle from south Georgia... I'm still a Braves fan and root for the Mariners even though they consistently lose.

Last year they went 1-5 in games I attended... 3 game interleague sweep by the Braves, 2 losses to the Rays but did manage to beat the Yankees 2-1 in a walkoff on September 14th.

This year I attended their home opener vs Oakland... and they lost 4-0.

At least with the Braves I could count on them winning more often than not... with Seattle I go just wondering if they will even score. I expect more losses in June... I'm planning on attending their weekend series with the Dodgers, Giants and BoSox next month.
