Luke Appling, "Old Aches and Pains," one of the greatest shortstops who ever took the field. 1930-50, all 20 years with the Chicago White Sox. Not only could he field, but he could hit--a career average of .310 (led the AL in hitting twice, .388 in 1936 and .328 in 1943).

Clete Boyer, third baseman. Played 16 seasons, a good portion of it with the Yankees. Brother of Ken and Cloyd, also MLBers. Finished his career in Japan. Was an average hitter, but a GREAT fielder....

Ike Delock - starter & reliever who played almost his entire career with the Red Sox - 1952-1963. In June of '63 the Sox released him and he pitched for about 7 weeks with Baltimore.
