Bill Kunkel - who had a brief career as a relief pitcher with the A's and Yanks in the early 60s. Went on become a major league ump and NBA ref. His son Jeff was a utility player with the Rangers in the 80s.
Thornton Lee, who pitched in the majors for 16 seasons (1933-48) with three different clubs. His big seasons were with the White Sox (1937-47), and his single best season was 1941: 22-11 with a league-leading 2.37 ERA and 30 CG. His son, Don, pitched in the 50s and 60s for several teams, as well.
... and Ted Williams homered off both of them. It's true!
Tony Madigan - righty who started 14 games for the Washington Nationals in 1886. His batting avg. of .083 was higher than his won/loss percentage. His record was 1-13.
Pee Wee Reese - SS with the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1940-1957. He finished in 1958, the Dodger's 1st season in L.A. He missed the war years like so many others and was still elected to the all-star team ten times and finally made the HOF in 1984. It should be noted that he was also a strong supporter of Jackie Robinson - not everyone was in those days. He also should have been a member of the Red Sox, as they were the team that drafted him, but Joe Cronin, the team's manager and starting short stop would have nothing to do with him and downplayed Pee Wee's abilities as he felt his position on the team would clearly be in jeopardy.
