Meanwhile, back on the subject, our team ERA is 4.90 and if that doesn't change in a big way we're going to be in third or fourth place come October.

No they're not and no they don't. They can't get people to even buy tickets because they priced them so high.

Don't worry--Lance is just being a Yankee fan. I think he knows that the rest of us don't bow down to them.

Apparently you haven't noticed their attendance figures.

I hate to say it but Fred's right. We do add alot to the sport but without the rivalries like between us and Boston we wouldn't have the notoriety that we do. Look out though, here we come again!

Umm...I believe that the Yanks' notoriety, as you put it, has a rather larger history than just the rivalry with Boston.

Of course it does but the history starting from the Babe Ruth trade, 1978 Bucky Dent HR,our playoff matches in the 90's to present all made both teams as big as they are.If the Yanks won it every year and ran away with the division we would be like the Braves of the 90's. They were talked about but not in a love/hate way the Yanks are. Solid rivalries are what really makes people talk whether good or bad.

I think the Bucky Dent home run is grossly overrated and that the game-winning play was made by Piniella in right field. Any thoughts?
