An agreement is now in place to send Roy Halladay to the Phillies, Cliff Lee to the Mariners, and prospects to the Blue Jays, major-league sources confirmed to FOXSports.com...Phillipe Aumont is among the players headed from Seattle to Toronto in the deal; the source added the Philadelphia is expected to send one of its outfield prospects, possibly Michael Taylor, to the Blue Jays.

This indeed deserves its own thread as its a huge deal (even though I think its still pending right?). Mariners would be huge winners in this if you account for the bad off season for the Angels thus far as well. Obviously the Phillies are getting a legit top of the rotation guy in Doc so I am not implying they are losers in the deal, but I would be excited if I were a Mariners fan.

As far as the Jays, I haven't seen which prospects are going in the deal, but I thought they would be able to fleece somebody and at first glance, this does not appear to do so.

I'm a Yankee fan so if we weren't going to get him then this isn't bad for us.As far as the deal goes it makes sense for all.Lee wanted big money and Halliday is willing to extend where Cliff Leee wants to hit the open market.Seattle on the other hand has done well this offseason and word is they are still pursuing Adrian Beltre and Jason Bay so they may not be done.

You gotta love how the New York Daily News make us Mets fans feel:

Congrats to the Phils for picking up Halladay.

You have to wonder what is going on with the Mets. Letting Lackey go without making any discussed play to sign him? Going after Bay instead of Holliday for the OF?

This was a great deal for Seattle. They have had a tremendous off season. The AL West will be fun to watch next year.

I think Hollidays a better player but last time I checked his asking price was like 23m Per year and obviousley no ones giving him that.

I'll miss Drabek, Taylor and Lee but I won't lose sleep over trading D'Arnaud. Phils minor league system is still loaded too. Nice deal.
