The Astros are finally out of last place, thanks in no small part to the Pirates' four-game losing streak, and now, Houston's got to try to get a win streak extended from their current two. They get the struggling Kansas City Royals at home, and KC is already immersed in a five-game losing streak. I hope the erstwhile-improved Royals can eventually make their comeback, but not at the expense of my Astros.
Man, the Yankees only had 4 (four) hits and left eight men on, welcome to real baseball. Once again Turner Field had been taken over by some opposing fans but the right team won. I love Mike Gonzalez's rocking windup (that's gotta be annoying to the hitter). I'm glad the Bravos won 4-zip but I'm not satisfied because it means nothing if we drop the next two of this series with Boston and Philly after NYY. ATL needs to get rolling, for real.
Wednesday's result...Mets 11, Cardinals 0. I feel much better about things tonight, especially since commentators make the Cards sound like the 1927 Yankees, for heaven's sake! I mean, let's face it: they came into this series with the Mets sporting a 39-31 record--which hardly makes them the most dominating force in the league.
I was hoping the Phillies would get DeRosa. Good righty off the bench who could probably play shortstop for us because Rollins thinks he's Ryan Howard and Bruntlett is basically a minor leaguer
