We would've also swept the Yankees too

But they didn't beat the Rays. They didn't make it to the WS so that argument is pointless I think the Phils can repeat GO Phillies

The Sox couldn't beat the team that the Phils beat in 5 games in the Series.

The important thing now is to sweep the Red Sox next weekend.

I don't know about the Phils, I guess they're going to stay in the mix, but they are weak in Starting Pitching.

I picked the Mets to win the East b4 the season started but they have there own pitching issues.

The Phillies staff isn't as weak as the current ERA would tell you. I honestly think Hamels, Blanton and Moyer were hungover/still tired from last year. They were all still pitching after some teams had been training for nearly a month. Ironically, that's how long it's taken them to get back on track. Look how they've done the last few weeks. And don't sleep on Happ and Bastardo, they've been sharp.

We have a great shot, but I'd prefer picking up a solid #2 starter at the deadline (we won't get another true #1). If we can get someone like Erik Bedard, Zach Duke, Cliff Lee, Jason Marquis, Jarrod Washburn, etc., we'll have an even better shot. Our starting pitching is starting to come around and our last 6 or 7 starts have been from fine, to solid, to fantastic.

Dodgers are probably tops in the NL simply because their rotation is more solid and they're a good hitting team too. We're not very far behind overall.

I agree JHG, the Phils are a quality arm away from being a favorite to win the NL, Bedard or Lee would be great for you guys.
