Red Sox acquire Jeremy Hermida from Marlins
Extra Bases - Red Sox blog
Makes some sense, Jason Bay has turned down the 4/60 offer the Sox made, Gammons says he wants 4/75, I don't think the Sox go that high, I would rather have Bay with Hermida as a 4th OF though.
Hermida hasn't hit major league pitching yet, but he's still young, It's the same old Marlins though.

The hot stove is heating up already!
I'm hoping the Red Sox reload this offseason....I want the arrogant Yankees fans knocked off their high horse. Actually, I'd really love to see the Rays come back and take the AL East, but really, ANYONE but the Yankees is fine with me.

Hermida hasn't exactly been a star since making the majors though, only has a .265 BA after nearly four full major league seasons, and had only 13 HRs this year. He is still young enough to develop into a plus player, but frankly I'm not sure he is going to be better than just a standard OFer batter.
His .740 OPS this season puts him in the bottom 20% of OFers, in terms of offensive performance. Add in the lack of speed...

I always had high hopes for Jeremy since he started his major league career with a grand slam - highly touted and still very young
however, for what you would need to invest in him, the returns just weren't there and if the marlins can get the same production for less investment they are going to do it
he's been very average with his bat, has had some injury concerns and his fielding is average to average/poor
throw in that he plays in a park where things are going to be naturally tougher for him it's a case where a change of scenery is probably best for all involved
i was listening to a beinfest interview in august and he was pretty steamed over the lack of development and seemingly effort from hermida
i wish him best because i'm still a fan - but you'd be hard pressed to find many marlins fans tore up about this
they'll either bring a guy up and keep the spot warm for a year with a platoon and then the year after bring in the michael stanton era

Boy you're a sore loser.I'd love to see the Mets stay healthy or the Braves play the whole year like they did the second half last year so I don't have to hear those annoying Phillies fans! Do you hear yourself?
