He was the only choice. The Yankees might be able to buy championships but they couldnt buy this award. Whoever voted for Cabrera should have his voting priveledges revoked.

What an incredible player he is. He'll be one of the all-time greats if he can stay healthy until he's 34.

Question is the same as for other Minnesota greats...Does he stay with the Twins after next year, say 6 years $120MM, or does he opt to go East for Big $$$ and more endorsement money potential.

Dont' be an idiot forever. The Yanks bought nothing! Mauer deserved the award and got it.Jeter and Tex deserved votes before Cabrera but Mauer deserved the unanimous 1st place votes.

That Seattle sportswriter must have still had a hangover from some grunge rock concert to vote for Cabrera over Mauer.

Now Mauer will be sitting back and watching the $$$,$$$,$$$ get thrown at him at contract time (hope I used enough digits).

The Yankees already appear to be mothballing Posada, so you know they'll come calling.

The Twins' only hope at keeping Mauer is if they can offer him enough moolah to where he says, OK that's enough. I'll accept so that I can stay home with my family, friends, and the state that he absolutely owns.

Not since Kirby Puckett has a sports star been so popular in Minnesota.

Jeter doesnt have too many more years for a regular season MVP, THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN HIS BEST SHOT >finishing 3rd- Tex- well he should have another shot or two to grab one
