Last year alot of people didn't want to touch the guy because of all the legal issues surrounding him.Now it has quieted down.I realize he is over 40 and is not a great clubhouse guy,but do you see any team inviting him in for a tryout? He never officially retired either.

Last Yr I wanted the Red Sox to take a flier but now I'm not so sure, he's 40+ like you mentioned and he's sat out for a year. Bad combination

No chance. He possibly was blackballed. Even if he wasnt, for the salary he would demand (still dont believe the "ill play for the minimum" quote) no one would give him a chance. He has been out of the game, has a bunch of baggage and is on the wrong side of 40.

I thought for sure this thread would be about his HOF status, which is kinda debatable. I don't think there is any chance he plays in the MLB again.

I also think he is done.If there was a chance of coming back,I do believe he would do it for a very cheap salary.

It would appear that he's done. But you know that midway through the season, some team won't be able to resist the temptation to offer him a contract. The catch will be an offer coming from a team not located in a major market. Will Bonds' ego prevent him from jumping at the offer? You have to know that Barry Bonds does not envision himself in the uniform of, just as an example, the Tampa Bay Rays. But if it was a choice between the Rays and retirement, he might swallow his pride.

Agreed Fred! I see him strictly as a DH and a team like a Baltimore or Texas could be an easy one especially at a minimal salary.

^Actually, now that you bring it up, it seems to me that Bonds could be dangerous as a DH, at least once he gets back into game shape.
