Yeah, good thing idiot fans don't exist anywhere else in the country besides Philly
What's up with the offensive hunger strike? It practically takes effort to not score the way this team has not scored over the past week or so. And does Greg Dobbs serve ANY constructive function on this team at this point?

No....he would be gone if he didn't play multiple positions. He's become this year's Bruntlett...although at least Bruntlett had a decent glove.
I would drop Dobbs and bring back Burrell to take his place on the bench.

No, really- if I wanted to root for the Royals, I'd just become a Royals fan. Why are the Phillies turning into them?

It's a team slump. Happens every year to the best of teams. Last year the Phillies went through a stretch where they couldn't buy a win at home. This year they've hit a stretch where they're leaving small villages on base. The only real concern right now is that they've let a team come back from the dead when they could have thrown some more dirt on them. They'll be fine if they don't try too hard to fix anything and if they can get some guys back from injuries. Just play the games. These things have a way of correcting themselves.

I find it amazing to see how tame this thread has become. Or rather, I did find it amazing. Then I realized the problem: without a nice knockdown drag-out New York/Philadelphia rivalry, the whole division just isn't all that exciting.

Tame it may be, but there's vomit. We have an active thread in the baseball forum that includes vomit. Not accidental vomit... Actual intentional vomit that one human being aimed at another.
I've spent a little bit of time trying to add something to that last sentence above. I typed a little. I backspaced a lot. I really don't know what to say, and I'm ready to give up entirely. I just think it's nice that fans of all teams can let our guards down a little and join forces on the issue of vomit in baseball. I think we can all agree that anytime fans share with one another, it's good for the game we love. Why should you have to walk to the concession stand, miss some of the action, and overpay for Cracker Jack and hot dogs... You can just have some of mine... From three innings ago.
