Today we have Adam Wainwright on the mound against the Brewers Zack Greinke. The Cardinals will hope to go to 3-0 and I believe that this will be a good pitching matchup.
I think they are going to discover that their bullpen is no better this year than it was last year, expect lots of blown saves. They have the worst defensive outfield in MLB. I hope Matheny does more running and less bunting. At the moment, he doesn't have a single player on the bench with more than a few weeks of MLB experience, which could hurt (although two are due back from the DL).
I have a problem with the Cardinals. Lee Smith saved 207 games for the Cardinals, and Bruce Sutter saved 127. Willie McGee played 13 years with the Cardinals, and Ken Boyer 11, with very similar stats. Of each pair, they have retired the uniform number of the white guy, but not the black one. They are now in their seventh consecutive season without an African American regular position player or starting pitcher for the whole season, there hasn't been one since Reggie Sanders in 2005. If I were a black St. Louisan, I'd be boycotting the team until I got some answers about that. Judging by the camera shots of the crowd, it looks like blacks are boycotting them. But the, with the ticket prices in their new stadium, how can any blacks afford to go to the games.
I would be hard pressed to see how an organization like the Cardinals would be racist in choosing who is on the team. By that way of thinking, would they be racist in not signing players from the Dominican Republic because their not white? Pujols would have never been signed.
You are suggesting that the St. Louis Cardinals are a racist organization, and then you say that "blacks" can't afford to go to the games?
So, you think a person is racist, if he believes that blacks have lower incomes than whites in America?
St. Louis County = 21% Black, Median income $56K
St Louis City = 48% Black, Median income $34K
East St Louis IL = 96% Black, Median income $21K
Where is the contradiction in saying that an organization can be racist, and can also raise ticket prices high enough to be affordable by mostly white fans? Your logic escapes me, maybe you can be more explicatory.

First of all, Pujols was signed in 1999 when they had plenty of African American players, including McGee, Lankford, Dunston and Eric Davis.
Second, Latin American players are not necessarily black nor white. They can be either. I said African American. Not subject to the same social discrimination in the USA.
Third, are you suggesting that an organization doesn't have any discretion in "choosing who is on the team"?
Exactly. How do you make another Official Cardinals topic when there was the other one? Try using the search function on the top right hand side of this site before making topics like this in the future please. It's just out of respect for the other Official team topics that were made before they reached their posting limit.

That's not what I said.
