90 mph change up that Either wasn't close to.
99 mph heat that Miles can't catch up to

No K's in the 3rd inning which included a spirited battle with the Dodgers' pitcher, Ted Lilly

4th inning

Stras K's Kemp and Ehtier and gives up a hit to Rivera.

He was scheduled to pitch 4 innings today. If so, his final line is
4IP, 0 walks, 4 K's, 2 hits, 3 ground outs, 4 fly outs, 48 pitches

Not too shabby

EDIT: They didn't hit for Stras so he'll pitch another inning it looks like. 48 pitches is hardly a warm up.

3 up and 3 down in the 5th on 8 pitches.

Maybe he'll be back for a 6th inning

EDIT: Nope

Final line 5 innings, 2 hits, 0 walks, 4 K's, 4 ground outs, 5 fly outs, 56 pitches.

Default Strasmus

Nats set Strasburg's upcoming schedule | nationals.com: News

Quote:
After he pitches on Sunday against the Astros, Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg will pitch on five days' rest, which means he will face the Marlins a week from Saturday at Nationals Park, according to manager Davey Johnson. His next start after that will be Sept. 23 against the Braves.

Johnson has not ruled out Strasburg pitching the last day of the season against the Marlins on Sept. 28 in Miami.

Was snoozing, apparently, and missed Stras' 2nd start.

Stras pitched 3 innings against the Astros. He faced 12 batters and struck out 4 of them.

On the season he's faced 29 batters. 8 of them have struck out. None have walked. 7 ground balls. 8 fly balls. 6 line drives.

Small sample size, but compared to last season:
YEAR K%, BB%, GB%, FB%, LD%
2010 34%, 6%, 48%, 32%, 21%
2011 28%, 0%, 33%, 38%, 29%

Doesn't look like he's suffering too much decline. His decreased strikeout rate is still better than every major league starter not surnamed Greinke.

All of his pitches have lost velocity. Between 1 and 2 MPH. That's to be expected as he rebuilds arm strength.

Look for Stras to dominate the league in 2012

Another strong outing for Strasburg tonight.

6 innings. 4 hits. 1 run. 0 walks. 3 K's.
Stras faced 21 hitters so his K% was down-14%. Still hasn't walked a batter this season.

Strasburg now has 32 major league starts, about a season's worth. How's he done?

32 games, 182 innings, 15-6, 2.57 ERA, 142 hits, 42 walks, 234 strike outs
33% of the batters that have faced Stras have K'd
6% of the batters that have faced Stras have walked

That season would get some Cy Young consideration

One pitcher in baseball has struck out a higher percentage of batters than Stras since 2010 (minimum 150 innings), reliever Carlos Marmol 34%.
The next closest starter (minimum 150 innings) is Brandon Morrow at 26%

The league average strike out rate for starters is is 19% in 2012. Straus is K'ing batters 74% more often than the average major league pitcher.

And he's getting better at it each month that pushes his surgery farther into the past

2012 April: 27%
2012 May: 33%
2012 June: 38%
