We heard this for weeks now, but apparently there is a report now that he is adamant on leaving NO after seeing what the Heat have done. Sources within the NBA say members of Paul's camp have told them recently, "He's not going to start the season in New Orleans." There are 3 teams that he wants to play for:

Chris Paul to any of the teams he "would like" to play for would be an improvement

If he goes to the Lakers, holy crap. You are going to have such a high % of top talent in only two cities. Its like a more spread out version of the cream of the AL East.

Add the Blazers and Mavericks to the list also. Another tweet by Bill Simmons says the Rockets and Celtics could be a destination for him:

"CP3 waited too long: had he gone public last month, NYK-NJ-Dal had the cap room/assets to deal. The most realistic matches now: Hou or Bos"

Rumor is he is being advising by the same braintrust that told Lebron to do that TV special.

Something i just thought of. Does it look worse for Paul to demand a trade when he is still under contract than it was for Lebron James to leave Cleveland as an unrestricted free agent?

Worse for CP3 easily. You sign a contract, you should honor it - unless the employer is completely screwing you or not living up to their end of the deal. It looks like management, from owner to coach, is changing or has changed already in New Orleans and CP3 is frustrated. He sees everyone else getting stacked and the Hornets seem very quiet.

LeBron earned the right as an unrestricted free agent to go where he wanted. He fulfilled his contract (twice).

Enjoy this upcoming season folks. Because starting July 1, 2011 the owners are about to lower the hammer on the NBAPA. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the league lost all of the 2011-2012 season.

I am sure Chris Paul will get his way and be traded. But it is a really bad look for the NBA. Between Gilbert Arenas and his stupidity, LeBron's one hour ego fest, and Paul demanding a trade with two full years left on his contract the players are giving the owners too much ammunition. It's not like they don't have enough already.

Players should in no way be shacked by owners. But when you sign a contract you have an obligation to that organization.
