Victor just got 38 points on 15/26, 10 rebounds. He is a lock for a all star selection, good chance of dpoy.

Should the spurs trade all their future picks for 2 all stars now to win it all? Im sure some teams at the trade deadline will not have a chance of a ring and are willing to trade a all star who is on the last year of their contract for 5 future firsts, or a mixture of firsts and seconds round picks. If they win it all or come close to it, im sure the 2 all stars will re sign due to being so close to winning it all.

They have 3 firsts this year, 3 firsts next year (2025), 2 firsts for 2026, 2 firsts for 2027,and a bunch of seconds for the future since they offloaded to tank for victor. Its proven that firsts roind picks are hit and miss, getting proven talent is more valuable, as long as salary's match up with multiple players. It could be a smart time to cash in those picks

Interesting. He is the real deal now. Waiting years for future draft picks to develop into talent or end up being a bust seems like a bad idea. First thing they need is a good point guard. I did not stay up for the end of last nights game but one thing that is obvious in previous games is he does not get the ball enough. The ball has to go through him on every offensive sequence. Good things happen when he has the rock. Too many times they don't even try to get him the ball. Last night apparently he got more touches. And on defense. He does really effect shooters and shots. Only thing that limits his block shot numbers is players are afraid to go to the rim against him.

I would try to get LeMelo Ball. His value has gone down a bit but he is still an excellent passer. CP3 if things go sideways with the Warriors. And I think they can sign free agents who want to play with him. Nomally SA is not an ideal place for free agents but this is different.

No. Let things develop naturally this season without the added pressure. Then build from there.

I agree. Spurs usually develop their own all stars. Manu, Parker, Kawhi, etc. They didn't trade for those players. They were developed in house. It's early but they are playing well right now. Let them play it out.

That was back when it seemed like the Spurs got most of the euro players. Now everyone is looking for those players. Some go G league or to college. UCLA has 6 incoming European freshmen. And it was a time when players were loyal to the Spurs for life. If they stumble building through the draft and Pops retires. He has maybe 2 or 3 years left as best. Victor could just want out. There is no loyalty to teams anymore.

They have 10 first round draft picks in the next 4 years, 21 draft picks if you include 2nd rounders. Forget about 2nd rounders, How can you play victor, plus give 10 first rounders minutes to develop, plus keep your starters?

Did you see what happened to the process in philly and how many first high first round picks they got? Joel embiid is the result and he will bolt if talent doesnt go to philly. Victors time is valuable, you waste his time with development of rookies, and keeps loosing, he will leave.

They're not losing right now. They are doing well. Devin Vassell could be a star with Wemby. They have shooters off the bench with Osman and McDermott. Zach Collins is a banger in the middle and picks up those inside points. Bassey the same. Of course, all those draft picks can't stay with the team and you can't pay everyone as well. Hard decisions should be made but they have a nice core right now that's winning. We'll see after they play 10 games where they're at.

They aren't good enough to compete for a ring, but if they make the playoffs then Wembanyama will win MVP.
Westbrook won MVP without his team being a contender.

There is no team with a big 3 now. Middleton is not a all star. Beal is not a all star. Porziņģis and holiday is not a all star. Gobert is not a all star anymore.

If the spurs get 2 all stars by offloading a ton of picks, they can win it all this year. Victor can be a top 2-6 player now. I dont think he can top jokic this year but who knows. I can see him averaging 25/10 reb/3 blocks if he plays 34 mins a game, on very good fg %.

Wembanyama said he wants to play all 82 games, so I bet Popovich won't give him 34mpg, but he's averaging 20.6 points in 28.6 minutes, and he's learning how to score more with each game, so his scoring will go up even if his minutes don't.
