any more??? They never were. Last year they were just as pathetic if not worse in the tourney.

On another note, my team (FSU) came to play. Finally we could score. It's like the skies open and everything just dropped. We just dominated Notre Dame. It was so beautiful; brings to my eyes.

Florida State and VCU are both playing great right now. If the Jayhawks get by Richmond I'm worried about playing the winner of FSU/VCU.
ESPN is already saying KU has a cakewalk but I don't think so.

ESPN also said VCU did not belong in the tournament and the Big East was going to send at least 2 teams to the Final 4.

Shame on Kansas if they don't win this region at this point.

Their kids play good sound basketball period.

Michigan had the athletes to compete but not the basketball skill or brains to win.

You cannot constantly go against an historical winner like Duke.

How about Ohio St. They are smoking!
lol I'm the same as you, for some reason I have never liked Michigan, dunno why.

They have a cakewalk as long as they do not fall apart. FSU has a great defense and some tall guys that can attempt to neutralize the twins. However, I think they are on a mission and it is going to take an implosion for them not to make the Final Four.

Yeah, any more. The #1 RPI league, and 11 (eleven) bids!

I had Butler & Va. Commonwealth in my Sweet 16. I did not have Richmond nor Marquette, though I'm not overly suprised. Florida State shocks me the most, for they were pretty ordinary most of the time I saw them playing (yes I know they beat Duke). One thing for sure: their teams are always amazingly tough defensively, especially in the paint.
As for the Big East, the whole conference pride thing always confused me. I never saw the big deal, especially now there is little regional pride at stake in many cases with the expansion of conferences. Also the tourney is so arbitrary, I take little stock in comparing how conferences fare in a tournament set-up the way the NCAA basketball is. I will say overall yes the Big East has fared poorly and more than two teams should have been capable of reacing the Sweet 16. But two teams HAD to be eliminated (Cinci & Marquete), Nova & Georgetown were obvious destined for one-and-dones, and Louisville, Syracuse, ND, and Pitt weren't they type of teams I identified as Final Four caliber. W. Virginia if anything, overachieved. Maybe it is just me, but I saw a conference with a lot of good teams- but nobody struck me as being on the level of Ohio St & Kansas no matter what the rankings say. Least of all did I expect UConn to win more than one game a few weeks ago- since the BE tournament they are a complete polar opposite of themselves (offensively in particular) from just a few weeks ago. Otherwise, things would even look bloodier after Sunday for the Big East.

See Post 188. To add to that post, this same stuff for this overrated/hyped league happened last year too. 2 of 8 made it this far.
