I think my Bulls should trade Thomas to the Lakers for Kobe....maybe throw in a 2nd round draft pick too.

Come on Bulls, make it happen!

Of course that's crazy talk.
Could you imagine Pujols, Jeter, and Rodriguez on the same team? Oh wait, wrong despised franchise.

I think some Lakers fans think it would be easy for them to replicate that, even though the NBA is more like the NFL in terms of parity. Hopefully both of the somewhat fiscally sane leagues continue that.

the nba has a cap that mlb would not even consider. i mean pujols wants 30 mil a year for the next 10 years. that would not even be brought up in the nba it is so impossible. the old school teams like the celtics used to win so much because there was no cap so you could pay whom ever the most money and they would come play, the teams who didnt have deep pockets didnt win titles.

Yeah, and while they're at it pick up Dwight Howard and see if you can trade Luke Walton for Lebron.

I don't know why any team would assist the Lakers by taking their undesirables in exchange for someone(s) who could conceivably extend their run another couple of years, unless any moves makes that team appreciably better. Artest is untradeable and heavily declining at this stage, and Bynum hasn't shown himself capable of being healthy enough to gamble on.

The only asset they have that could net them a decent return is Odom, who dispute his occasional lax play is one of the more versatile players around and versed in the nuances of the triangle. Which I think is an understated point when bringing up trade scenarios; anyone that joins the Lakers will need a crash course on the triangle offense, something that is best left for meaningless pre-season play and not halfway through the year when you're battling for playoff positioning. It's one thing to add a role player or two to shore up your bench, it's quite another to add a game-changer like a Melo.

With Harper aging, Artest erratic and a bench comprised of Odom....getting 35minutes out of Bynum changes the entire dynamic of that team.

If they are healthy come playoff time then the Lakers are going to do some damage, no doubt about it.

Healthiest team wins the West this year....ditto for the east....should be interesting down the stretch.

You must have time-warped back to 2000

Oh, for the record, I'll agree with you that I may have been underrating the Bulls the other day. I like how they're jelling together. I still think they're a second playmaker away from winning it all and not 'quite' championship-ready yet, but they're well on their way....

We will see. Young squad, so I agree with all that you are saying. I just like the fact that when you look at the east, the Bulls IMO are clearly the 2nd best team and are young and improving.
