I thought it was average. Heck, be barely jumped over the hood.

The dunk contest needs to be retired for a few years.

*Griffin.

It wasn't his best dunk of the night.

Retired for a few years? That was one of the best dunk contests I've ever seen.

My fav, the only person ever to properly dunk from the freethrow line.

Serge got robbed!

As far as the car dunk, it was even his best dunk of the night.

Any talk of the event being retired needs to stop. How could any basketball watch the first round of that contest last night not be entertained?

I really thought that McGee should have won.

Serge got robbed for sure. He had the best dunk of the night.

The first round was beyond sick.

It wasn't his best dunk of the night and I didn't like the car dunk. I also didn't care for the 2-ball dunk or the 3-ball dunk. I didn't care for the dunk to get the kid's stuffed animal because they should've left the stuffed animal part out of it. I think the dunk itself is all that's needed not the gimmicks and props they use to add to the "entertainment." This is utter buffoonery and takes away from the dignity of the game, the contest, and the athletes themselves. Retire the dunk contest? You're insane. It just needs to be tweaked a bit to remove the folly element and bring back the dignity.

I prefer pure dunks: windmill slams (D. Wilkins), double-pump slams (D. Wilkins), between the leg reverse slams (V. Carter, Richardson), straight slams (Jordan), high-flying straight slams (Erving), Cradle slams (Erving). D. Wilkins was unbelievably athletic with his dunks.

Pure slam dunks:

I think they should limit the category of slams and compare how well each contestant does in the category. Possible categories:

1. Windmill slam
2. Double pump slam
3. Reverse slam
4. Straight slam
5. Cradle slam
