You take a 3 in that situation in a regualr season game not in a playoff game

He averages about 3 3-pt attempts per game....he took 8 this game.

He needs to be using his speed, size and athleticism to take that ball in the paint and rack up fouls on the Celtics.

Those fouls turn into easier baskets and penalty FT's down the road....which is how Shaq's sidekicks got a lot of easy points and couldn't be guarded so closely back in the day.

Especially these cagey, older veteran teams you HAVE to take it at them and if you get some penalties on them they have to back off on D.

If the Knicks don't fall asleep on that inbound pass to Garnett, they are up 1-0

That was terrible coaching.

^^^Totally agree.

Here is where the Knicks are just fascinating for me just from a franchise operation perspective. (If I were a fan I'd want to find something very very high to jump off of.)

So, the Knicks have huge financial resources, storied tradition, lots of revenue....but the NBA has a salary cap which has killed them due to horrible longterm contracts given out by Isaih. However, that doesn't apply to coachs. So, with all their monetary resources with no cap implication they have a 2nd or 3rd rate coach at the helm? Hell, the Knicks could have the current Bulls head coach among others way better than what they currently have.

Well, since this is the Dolans I expect the right decisions not to be made....but if they can add some key free agents (defense), bring in a top flight coach and then show Carmelo the pimp hand when he inevitably whines about the coach pushing Defense etc. THEN the Knicks would be a contender.

You might want to guard the worst shooter in the league.

That's the scary thing about the knicks. IF IF IF they started playing D like they did back in the day......they'd be a force to be reckoned with. Instead, they let the worst shooter in the league go off of them for 1 on 4 layups.
