I think any reasonable NBA can look at a healthy Spurs squad and see the Lakers are going to have a tougher path this year. Ditto for the Celtics which have 2 teams playing MUCH better than what they had to play against in last years EC.
It seemed like the Lakers would have a tougher path this year as the Spurs were playing really well attaining the best record in the NBA, but then I had my doubts when they played March 6. Lakers went into San Antonio and ended the Spurs record 22 home game winning streak. Not only did they end it, but how they did it. Lakers led by as much as 32 points. When the Lakers are really focused and on their A game, there very dangerous. It wont be easy, it never is, but I like their chances for a 3 peat.

i agree, spurs will be fine without manu. i mean the 2 wins of the griz where either parkerless or duncanless and while the griz have changed a bit since the deadline, i say spurs in 5, 6 if the griz are lucky.

<shrug> I honestly don't understand how people can put much faith in a single game. I mean, just a week or so ago the Thunder whupped up on the Lakers whom collapsed in the 4th quarter....I try not to read too much into stuff like that. (Hey I watched Rex Chapman school Michael Jordan one night. )

I usually dont put too much faith in one game...but look at what happened last tuesday night, the spurs decided to leave their jock straps in the locker room...come on now..Lakers with injuries and hurt and all came out to play, the spurs decided to "rest" the "big 3" .. I was pissed, for heavens sake this is the NBA!!!..even Kobe seemed to be frustrated that night...come on Spurs bring it on!!!

How's that working out for Bynum?

....and on top of that the Lakers starters had to struggle to beat the Spurs 2nd string.

Time will tell. We're about to find out whom has been coasting how much amongst the 3 older veteran teams.

So you're saying that the Spurs should start their 2nd string against the Lakers if they meet in the playoffs rather than their starters who played on March 6? Wake up and smell the coffee. When the Spurs took the court with their tails between their legs and started their 2nd string it was quite evident that the Lakers "took the night off" as well. They had nothing to prove, even if they won by 40, people wouldve said "oh it was against their 2nd string"

What I read, after the MRI, the injury to Bynum didnt seem to be serious.

haha you're the one that seemed concerned that the Lakers would struggle against the Spurs second stringers. Just giving you facts. You appear to be clueless.
