OKC are not mature enough to beat the Lakers. They have slightly improved from last year but they still have some growing up to do. There's a lot to be said about teams like Boston, Lakers, and the Spurs. Those are championship teams that are stacked with veterans and veteran teams have the mental maturity to execute. OKC immaturity was revealed during the 1st round and they will not be able to out smart a veteran team like the Lakers. OKC is still struggling trying to find their own identity and when it comes to playing against champions you don't have time for a identity crises, you have to know who you are as a team. OKC is getting there but they're not there yet.

Haha, to all those who said the Spurs would be unstoppable.

I always say once the playoffs start, you can throw out the regular season. Throw out records, numbers, stats ect.

The Spurs have grown old. It will happen to all teams at some point. Great run throughout the years for the Spurs but they will no longer be the powerhouse they once were.

They were never considered a powerhouse since their titles were spead out.......99, 03, 05, 07. Now they were among the Top teams of the west but the only west team that was a powerhouse was the Lakers from 2000-2005

what are you talking about? 2000 the lakers won a title in a year that duncan missed the playoffs with an injury. 2003 the spurs won a title, 2004, the lakers got beat by the pistons, and 2005 the lakers didnt even make the playoffs? sure 2000-2002 they won 3 titles, no argument there but to say the spurs where not a powerhouse has to be a joke right?

1999 spurs lost 2 playoff games, 2000 duncan went down with a knee injury and they got knocked out early. 2001 they got swept by the lakers in the conf finals (that was the lakers most dominant playoffs of the kobe era IMO) 2002 lost to lakers in semis, 2003 title, 2004 lost to lakers in semis on a lucky .4 second shot that changed the series. 2005 title. 2006, lost to mavs in conf finals on a stupid foul by manu in game seven. thats far enough to call them a power house without even getting to their last title to date.

To me a powerhouse is making the finals two years in a row or 3 our of 4. The Spurs made the finals in

1999.........returned in 2003,,,,,,,,,,,then 2005...then...2007 and have not been there since. But they were one of the TOP teams in the west during that decade.

They were like the Rockets of the 90's

Way to define your "success"to meet your personal needs.

<shrug> I honestly dont care but to try to marginalize the Spurs....a team that has been a contender for a decade or so....is silly.
