So because he was eliminated after winning two bac to back titles which gave him 5 he is no longer the GOAT? You realize how stupid you sound?

So how does la move forward? Kobe has the team locked into lux tax till 2014. He makes 25m, 27.8m, 30m. Pau is between 17-19m. Those 2 alone are getting paid almost as much as some other teams. They have 90m worth of payroll next year and they don't even have a full roster.

Kobe was NEVER the goat. This series/season just showed more reasons why.

What better way to end an era than to be locked at sweet 16. yep. 16 Titles. From Mikan, Chamberlain, West, Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Shaq to the current back to back Lakers, of Kobe, Fisher, Gasol, Odom etc. the Lakers have been Solid Gold. As a life long Lakers fan its been a dream come true, over and over. That said, congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks. They without doubt deserve to be in the Western Conference Finals. I donít necessarily think the Lakers need to blow up the team with a sledge hammer, but rather a chisel with picasso precision. After a year, if the need be, reevaluate and make appropriate moves. After 5 recent titles there is no need to be hasty. Lastly a big F.U. to all the haters, especially the ones who are suddenly coming out of the woodwork. But that is to be expected. Being on top for many years there are many fans who have cried in their beers time and time again. By reading some of the posts here, you can tell which have endured the most pain. Its your time take advantage. Its all good, it comes with the territory.

It's not just about championships....That is the meat of what you need to do but I don't think a player has to match another player ring for ring.. Kobe seems like his best years are behind him and I just don't see him as being dominant anymore when it counts... Jason Kidd at 38 or however old he is stayed in front of Kobe the whole series and made him shoot jump shots... The Lakers will construct a shady trade for D. Howard so Kobe can get eight or nine rings but he still will not be the Greatest of all time.. Maybe the greatest Laker and amongst the greatest players ever..
