I personally think Magic Johnson is the greatest Lakers player of all-time, not Kobe Bryant.

The Mavericks' starters were taken out of the game so that the Lakers wouldn't have a chance to land more cheap shots on them.

Kobe has a threepeat and a twopeat under his belt even though both have 5 rings.

Magic has 1 2peat and the other titls were spead out.......80, 82, 85.

So Magic is WHAT?

1) Kobe clearly wasn't the best player on 3 of the 5 championship teams he played on, Shaq was on the 2000-2002 Lakers title teams.

2) The 1988 Lakers were the first team since the 1969 Celtics to repeat as NBA champs. There was almost a mental or psychological chip on teams being able to repeat in that era until the 1988 Lakers did it. (Ironically, NBA teams repeating as champs has been common since then; in fact between 1987 and 2002 there was only one NBA champion, the 1999 Spurs, who failed to win at least back-to-back titles.)

3) The 1980s Celtics and early 1980s 76ers, who were the Lakers' NBA Finals opponents for 4 of the 5 championships the 1980s Lakers won (as well as 2 of their NBA Finals losses in that era) were IMO, considerably better than any of the teams the Lakers beat in the NBA Finals between 2000 and 2010.

4) Magic played for 12 seasons (and won all 5 of his titles in his first 9 years in the NBA), while Kobe has played for 15 seasons and didn't win his 5th title until his 14th season with the Lakers.

5) Magic's team never went more than 3 consecutive years without winning a title (and those were the last 3 seasons of his career, when the Lakers played in the NBA Finals twice). Kobe went 5 seasons in the middle of his career without winning a title, only appearing in the NBA Finals once in that span. (To be fair, a genuinely excellent San Antonio Spurs team won 3 NBA titles during the Lakers' 5 year title drought.)

2008 Celtics are right there with those teams imho..... but 2000 Pacers, 2001 Sixers, and 2002 Nets? Vastly inferior opponents comparatively, not only to the teams LA beat in the 80's but even the teams Jordan faced in the 90's finals.

The Mav's bench outscored the Laker's starters 85-37 . The Lakers scored 86 pts.

It's called a cheap shot by a POS crybaby that was mad that his team was getting blown the F out. Classless fans can come up with all kinds of excuses for classless players. Take a seat on the couch with your team.
