It's true though, the Mavs were known for flopping in the playoffs up to that point. Kind of like the Clippers now.

Oh I know. I know all too well.

I remember in 2009 the #6 Mavs did manage to beat the #3 Spurs in the 1st Round, but in 2010 the teams flip flopped and the #7 Spurs took out the #2 Mavs.

Let's not reminisce about 2006/2007.

I believe Dallas is also the only team leading 3-0 in a series that won it in 7 games.

This was Dallas Year,No excuses......Some say Gasol was distracted in this series but these games were so close that it could have went either way ......

We were so mad how Dallas beat us that we swept them in the regular season the next year .....But nothing but respect for Dirk,He's the 3rd best forward behind Duncan & Garnett in the 2000s

im gonna agree with kobe on this one (holy ****, gotta go wash my hands after typing that)

KG wasnt far behind duncan but ahead of dirk.

dirk is a great shooter, one tough german, but his passing is SO-SO at best, his rebounding is average, his defense has always been horrendous.

Not true. Check their playoff stats, there is no advantage for garnett. Dirk is just a more important player to a team, he's lifted up every roster he's been on. Garnett was never clutch.
Start a team with prime Dirk or prime KG, you'd be foolish to take Garnett.

what are you talking about?
regular season stats
KG
18.2ppg/10.2rpg/3.8apg/1.3spg/1.4bpg
dirk
22.2ppg/7.9rpg/2.6apg/.9spg/.9bpg
playoff stats, ill habd it, dirk is better than reg season dirk
kg
18.2ppg/10.7rpg/3.3apg/1.2spg/1.3bpg
dirk
25.4ppg/10.2rpg/2.5apg/1.1spg/.9bpg

no mater how you slice it, or what you try to skew it with (check the playoffs) KG has better numbers all the way around outside of ppg.
then look at their best single season averages.......
KG
27ppg/18.7rpg/8.8apg/1.9spg/2.4bpg
dirk
28.4ppg/13.1rpg/4apg/2spg/2.6bpg

dirk had 2002 where he shined, huge season for dirk, but KG has better number s across the board.

Kevin Garnett vs. Dirk Nowitzki Comparison:

they are close, but KG is better, he has better numbers everywhere (except scoring) and dirk has NEVER been accused of even being a solid defender, much less a good defender. there is a reason the joke is he plays in Allas, because there aint no D up there

Slo1318,Kg was the first player in the 90s that came fresh out of Highschool & in his prime was a complete beast.Dirk was a better shooter than him & Duncan but Dirk isn't better than neither of them.

I watched them in depth go head to head in their prime and you could never convince me KG was better than Dirk, for me it'd be like DWade vs Carmello. I take Dirk 10 out of 10 times.
