Good move? He did have success with the Blazers in the 90's and the Kings in the early 00's so maybe it's not a bad pickup

I think he would be a good fit. An established coach, been around forever...Makes sense to me.

He's had success with other clubs, but he's never won a ring, or even taken his team to the NBA Finals, I don't like this possible decision. I would rather have new coaching blood and Brian Shaw fits the bill, he's paid his dues.

Adelman coached the 1992 Blazers team that went to the finals and lost to the Bulls ( this series is notable for the Jordan 'shrug' when he hit 6 threes and scored 35 in the half of game 1).

They almost got it to 7 games too (no one pushed the Bulls to 7 in the Finals during the dynasty years). They were up huge in the 4th quarter and the Bulls made a crazy comeback with their bench players.

Yep...... If I recall, that Bulls squad during their run was taken to seven games only 2 times- 1992 Knicks, 1998 Pacers. Pretty amazing....

Sounds right, I def recall those two series and can't think of any other ones...Ill look it up though. I also ♥ the 1991 run where they only lost 2 games the entire playoffs - 1 to Barkley's 76ers and game 1 in the finals to Magic and the Lakers (and just barely thanks Sam Perkins ugly ***** shot)

Do the Lakers really want Adelman? They will have to adjust to something different than the Triangle offense. There is a good possibility that the lockout will occur. Will that be enough time for them to learn this offense in a shortened season much less a full season. They're better off going with Brian Shaw i think.
