This has to be one of the best Finals i have seen in a long time. Games are so close! Gutsy effort by the Mavs after Heat go up by 9 early in 4th quarter. This is also one of the weirdest series. Just when you thought one team had the momentum and control, it quickly vanishes.
Yeah, this NBA Finals reminds me a little of some the series from the 1990s (namely four of the series the Chicago Bulls won - Portland 1992, Phoenix 1993, and Utah 1997 and 1998) and even the Celtics-Lakers series from the 1980s. Good stuff.
I'm still waiting for Dallas' second-tier players (basically their good players besides Nowitzki) to start playing better and for LeBron James to play like a superstar.
First time he's been held to single digits in something like 4 years. Amazing job Mavs!
Kudos to the Mavs for a big win. But Lebron punked out in a major way. There is no reason for him not to be posting up 6'2, 185 lb Jason Terry in those situations. There was also a pass to Lebron in the corner where he should have added another dunk to his highlight reel, but instead he passed the ball away. I like Lebron and all, but that boy just ain't got it.

He is really good at playing defense on guys 6+ inches shorter than him though.

You'd have to go back to 1994 when Hakeem took Houston to the title. Who was the second option?? Vernon Maxwell? Kenny Smith? Horry? Cassell?
What made those mid-1990's Rocket teams so good was that any one of those guys could step up and give you a 20 point game. Also they could all chip in about 12 to 18 points a game.
If the Mavericks win this series that what it is going to take. Either one guy stepping up for 20 plus a game or a bunch of guys getting 12 to 18 points a game.
