Where would you rank Jason Kidd when it comes to the best point guard ever? I say 3rd behind Magic and Isaiah Thomas

i would put him above Isaiah, and tied with stockton. actually i put him slightly above stockton for the fact that stockton had the 2/3 best PF in the history of the game to pass to his whole career.

magic is clearly #1 but kidd is my fav PG, to damn bad he turned my spurs down (think of the rings he could have had teamed with duncan) and to bad he is playing on the dallas freaking mavericks LETS GO HEAT!

I second Greg, Stockton was a good shooter, facilitator, and had heart! Kidd for me is in the top 10 maybe 8-9.

Jason Kidd offensive liabilities and lack of quickness makes him somewhat of a liability. He's a great passer and he's get a great feel for the game. I'd rate the folliowing point guards ahead of him.

Magic Johnson

John Stockton

Isiah Thomas

Kevin Johnson

JoJo White

Gary Payton

Mo Cheeks

The players above are better all around players in terms of being able to hit jumpers and drive to the the hop. Kidd may be a better passer than some of these guys I'll admit.

Kidd never that great an outside shooter. He's in the top 10. Others?

Magic
Isiah
Steve Nash
Stockton
Walt Frazier
Oscar Robinson
Kevin Johnson
Mo Cheeks

your nuts, kidd all day every day over nash. nash can pass well, he has an ok outside shot, kidd would lock nash down, put him in bad situations and out hustle him on the boards. nash is not a top 10 PG no way no how.

the thing about kidd is while he was not a big threat to put up 40 on you, he did soooo many other things, not to many people can see the floor the way he does. he did so many other things then just shoot (pgs are supposed to be passers not scorers imo). the guy has 105 triple doubles. he is 3rd behind oscar and magic. i remember seeing him put up like 20 points, 19 assists and 17 rebounds or something in a playoff game a few years ago.

I assume you mean quickness at this stage? Because prime Kidd was not lacking in quickness.

Nash can take over a game as well as keeping everybody involved and running the offense. Nash can get into the lane and score which collapses the defense and opens up outside shooting. JKidd is a better rebounder, great on the break and better defensively but is a huge liability when it comes to scoring. You know when Kidd gets into the lane he is going to pass. He is not a finisher and can't take over a game. It would also depend what system and other players were on the team.

Nash is a 2xMVP while Kidd made it to the finals 3 times now but will likely lose again.
