I heard the ESPN guys (at least one) make comments about Dirk being in the top 20 of all time. Looked for it on-line this morning and finally found it:

Dirk is really good. I think we as sports fans (and I am guilty of this too) try to quantify impossible things sometimes, and "top 10," 20, 30, 40, 50, 1000 lists are often in that category for me. I don't know what his ranking is, but I know he is a great player and I'm amped that he got his ring.

He is a good player no doubt. He will easily make the HoF. But top 20, those fools announcing the game last night were just reaching... really bad.

Not Top 20 overall, in my mind, but Top 20 Finals performances? That I can make an argument for.

Top "name your number" lists are all open to individual opinions when it comes to judging players OVERALL.

I think its best to stick to provable top 10/20/50/100 or whatever list, by simply doing it in a category. Most points scored? Provable. Most rebounds? Provable. Etc.

All other lists are pure individual opinions and are no more credible than Ford is better than Chevy/vice versa arguments.

Most Americans aren't familiar with German pronounciations. It looks like "Durk" so 99% of Americans pronounce it that way. Just like we call Schwarzenegger "Arnold" even though the Austrian pronunciation is Ah-nuld.

In due time I can see Dirk being up right there with Larry Bird as one of the legends.

He's going to finish pretty high up....but probably not that high up. It will be tough for him to win another MVP, additional championships are possible but that team isn't young.

It will be fun to watch, this was the best playoffs in memory.
