vince is about to be released by the suns so they only have to pay him 4 mil instead of the 18+ he is owed next season.

my question, would you like to see him on your team next season.

i am on the fence with the spurs, if he is willing to come off the bench behind manu, then maybe so. that is provided he can stay healthy and come cheap. that $4 mil sounds about right, tops on carter IMO, and a 4 million dollar carter as a healthy back up 2 guard can be pretty nice.

Vince Carter is pretty much a talented loser. Plus he's well past his prime....considering the winning culture that defines the Spurs organization, I can't see them picking him up, even as a backup. Unless he's paid like the veteran's minimum or something like that, but he's not worth anything more at this point.

He'd look good on the Heat bench. But I think I'll be saying that about any talented (or formerly talented) player who is not under contract this off season.

There has been some talk of grant hill to the spurs which is the only sun I would ever want.

He would make a good verteran addition to a good team needing bench help.

Lakers, Heat pop immediately to mind.

If you're looking for a starter, absolutely not. He'll turn 35 this coming season, a lot of mileage on those legs, can't attack the hoop like he used to, falls in love with three pointers very easily, and he won't be locking down anyone on D.

If you're looking for a 6th man type of guy, then he would probably be a good fit on a team like Miami, the Knicks, or Golden State. If you give him 20-25 minutes a night off the bench, he can give you 10-12 points, a few boards, a three pointer or two, and veteran leadership.

Vince Carter is the poster boy for someone who has all the physical skills and talent in the world, but not the work ethic to add to his game. Frankly to me he seemed better in his first few years, he never seemed to evolve much as a player beyond that. And now the physical skills have eroded. Offensive spark off the bench, nothing more at this point. And I was a big fan of his when he first burst on the scene.....
