Agree, I've made a point not to do so. Suffice to say Elmer forced me to re-examine my entire frontline, but I won't say anymore than that.

Spoiler

Wilton Norman Chamberlain

2x NBA Champion
4x NBA MVP
71-72 NBA Finals MVP
8x All NBA 1st Team
13x NBA All Star

30 pts and 23 reb/gm for his career. Led the league in assists in 67-68 - because he could.

The stat king - in a world where we appreciate a 20/10 guy, he was a 50/25 guy. How many people the world over would pay to see a prime Wilt vs a prime Shaq go head-to-head?
Now how did I guess you were going to go that route? I think you'll agree though, Wilt in the modern era would have put up statlines closer to what Shaq did in his prime (30 and 13) than 50/25. Though I do think Wilt would have been a better rebounder, as Shaq should have been better than he was. Mostly laziness on his part......

I thought once Elmer got Hakeem he would look for a different type of player....

I concede he was 15 years too early for hardcore fans' tastes, but a Ferrari with a door ding's still a cherry. I wanted a scorer to pair with the Dream (someone who could step out to 12-15 ft like Tiny Tim), but not taking Wilt with the 8th pick would simply be an abomination.

BTW, I got hung up in a meeting and still trying to get caught up.

Agreed 20,000 is a lot of women.

I'll agree to this, it's like at this point how does one justify NOT taking Wilt Chamberlain if he's available??

For that same reason after picking Shaq, I thought 'Ok, Duncan's still free, how do I not pick the best two-way power forward ever?

Simple answer: Don't 'not' pick him.

I was speaking to his comments throughout the thread, moreso than that specific comment regarding the women.
